| Description: |
Just in time for Halloween, The Cabiri performance troupe brings Seattle an opportunity to express its darker side with a weekend of live music, cabaret performances, and costumed revelry. Their annual fundraising event will be held October 20th and 21st in the theatre at the newly-opened Youngstown Cultural Arts Center in West Seattle.
On Friday October 20th, The Cabiri invite guests to participate in The Ghost Game, an elegant, interactive dinner theatre cabaret featuring ghost-themed performances by a variety of guest artists.
Performances will include elegant burlesque by Vienna Le Rouge, modern dance by Christl Marcontell, and aerial dance by Lara Paxton of Circus Contraption and Esther Edelman of UMO Ensemble. The Cabiri troupe will premiere a new work based on Japanese mythology in their signature style of storytelling utilizing dance, both aerial and earthbound.
Guests will be served a delicious three-course dinner with a vegetarian option available, followed by dessert and coffee. Wine and beer will also be available for purchase.
The evenings events kick off at 7:30 p.m. The cabaret begins at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $40.00 per person, or $75 per couple. Guests may purchase an entire table (seating for 5) for $175. Price includes dinner, dessert, non-alcoholic beverage, and entertainment. This event is open to all ages.
Limited-edition Cabiri t-shirts will also be available for purchase throughout the event, in addition to a silent auction. All profits from this fundraising event will support the organizations annual operating costs.
The Cabiri are theatrical emissaries for The Anunnaki Project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization based in Seattle, Washington. The Cabiri specialize in performative mythology, the telling of myths and stories from cultures that have passed into antiquity via physical theater, dance, and circus arts. -------------------------- This event was submitted by Brown Paper Tickets!
