Jesus Christ Superstar at Theatre Babylon
Union Garage Seattle, WA
Jesus Christ Superstar
By Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber, directed by Brad Cook
October 12, 1971, the controversial rock musical "Jesus Christ Superstar" opened on Broadway at the Mark Hellinger under the direction of Tom O'Horgan, director of the 1960's landmark musical "Hair." Now, more than thirty years later, Theatre Babylon is proud to present this epic rock musical again - this time up close and unplugged.
Under the direction of our own Brad Cook and John Longenbaugh in the small theater that is our home, Union Garage, this "Jesus Christ Superstar" will be the most intimate of epics ever told. Seating is limited so get your tickets early. "Jesus Christ Superstar" looks at Christ's last seven days on Earth from the point of view of Judas, the man who ultimately betrayed him. Some have called this show reverent. Others have called it blasphemous. We invite you to join in this celebration of theatre and make up your own mind...
